Oscar Garza

Juvenile Justice Ministry - Fresno

I was born and raised in Clovis and after graduation from Clovis High (GO COUGARS!), I spent 21 1/2 years in the Navy, then retired and worked for Homeland Security for 13 years. I've coached football from ages six through Semi-Pro in Warsaw Poland. I am an Assistant Chaplain at Juvenile Justice Campus in Fresno. I also volunteer with veterans dealing with PTSD as well as working with youth sports program at various organizations in Fresno County. My hobbies are coaching and wilderness survival (which I was trained in the military to teach to high risk of capture personnel ). I've lived everywhere from San Diego to Japan and have visited over 14 countries, so I love to travel. I have two grown sons: Patrick and Simon.

I love YFC because it allows me to use the gifts that God has given me to reach young people and help them get back on a path that will ensure them a fruitful life with Jesus. I love working with the Juvenile Justice Ministry. I feel these are the broken that God will use to deliver a powerful message to others.
